Never mind, I think I found the problem. TSD_PR2 doesn't really work on any server xD

Either you haven't forwarded your ports correctly or your router/windows firewall might be blocking your ports.

This is IW4M, not IW5M... "Steam must be running to play this game" is an error that happens often when the connection is behind a proxy. It can be either a client proxy (check internet explorer's settings, on "connections" tab) or ISP proxy.

I recently decided to give hosted a server a go, all went well and I thought I had successfully done it first time, but sadly not.

I followed all your steps on the Tut carefully so no mistakes have been made.

When I run the shortcut of the exe all seems well (although it frequently says WARNING: Couldn't open logfile: games_mp.log).

I can connect to the server and play by going into the console and inputting: connect :28961

However, I can't see the server in the server browser (I understand this is normal) and nor can my friends, which is the annoying thing..

It also says: sent heartbeat to iw4.prod.fourdeltaone.net which is normal too.

Does all this mean that my ports are open because I think that may be the problem.

No mods, but used plugins VAS and MAM. Error occurs when the map changes in rotation. Rotation is used from MAM, in VAS disabled.

I guess its from this MAM rotation... Did you try to use the server.cfg based one?

i've done everything in your tut. and i can join and all these things. but a friend CAN'T join to my server. we tried and tried . gave him my external ip , doesn't work. He everytime get the message :"joining game session 1.....15.." and then "unable to connect to host". My ports are all open . PPLEASE HELP

I get the error "file sum/name mismatch" when I try to connect to the server. I use the newer isnipe mod. if I delete the mods folder and the mods parameter in the shortcut properties, I can connect to the server and then, I can play without any problems.

 

Please help me, I am getting real sick of this error!

Which iSnipe mod do you use?

I downloaded it as "isnipe VIP". (The iSnipe label on the right upper corner on the map loadscreen is red) I have also tried the one, where the label is yellow but that one didn't worked either.
