I'll make something so it can't be used against 4D1 servers. You know, in the dedi list there's a star before 4D1 servers right? I'm gonna use that and an server with an checksum to make sure the server isn't from 4D1.

Oops, thought you were Dutch. It's not done(klaar), but it just means the end of the code has been reached.

Easy to hack and use against 4D1 (or even make a clone, who knows?). You'd need something safer if you want to make it only work on aRev, also a small change in the iw4m.dll code of aRev can make this useless and force you to change(or take down)the 4D1 check. Anyway I want to see what comes with this ;)

I doubt so. I'll obfuscate the code and put in an checksum for the 4D1-check.

And does the iw4m code relate to this? This, my friend, is pure packetwork.

Of course it does, the current iw4m code(and aRev code)uses a simple version check(and probably some more data)to show you a Legacy server as one in the server list(and filter them). Changing the version that the game server sends then you are completely done with it and your check will probably fail(maybe your 4D1 check can help a bit, but if i do not see the program working I cannot really know how effective it is), also, as you've done, just some packet sniffing for a iw4m game play and I can copy the functionality of the program, maybe not in a short amount of time, but probably in a week or so, its not that hard to do.

Then I'll make it private. And it's easy to seperate the fake clients from the real ones.

And I'm just like 2 days on this. The check won't fail, but it won't attack the server.

I don't really understand what you're saying further, are you using an translator or something?

No, my english is really bad. I mean that there are ways of "confusing" the tool, so it cant know if its an aRev server or an 4D1 server and this will let the tool attack every server the user wants

What are you using then? Java?

It fuckin' uses 1024mb for listening on a port and doing some other shit. C# is better then Java, imo.

Hmmm... I ._. at this topic... And I want this... BADLY.

As soon as it's done, my friend.

And eh, I'm now working on one of the last packets, connect. Although it doesn't seem to send me the challengeRespond :@

Nope, it won't. Then they will need to change the IW4M dedi code. The check is externally done, using an checksum. I just hope I won't get DDoSed.

Proxie ftw. Also, just open cmd, ipconfig /renew , BAM new IP.

Uhm, that'll only work if you have an dynamic IP adress. And it'll break the check xD, and I won't host it at my home.

Phew, it's getting kinda hard right now. I think I'm missing something, but I don't know what...

I'll continue tomorrow. Goodnight.

And how will you do the checksum? You cannot access the game server files externally, and the data sent to master servers can be changed to make it look like a 4d1 server, also both versions(aRev dll and 4d1 dll)authenticate in the same servers, so you have no real way of identifying them, the current 4d1 dll uses two master servers(just like the aRev one, which is some revisions old compared to the last 4d1 revision). You have no easy way to know which version it is just connecting to a server. A update in the aRev dll will also make it look like the 4d1(in fact the current aRev version is just an old iw4m revision)so, as I have already said, there is no real way of identifying them without run into a mistake and attack a non-aRev server, which will be very funny, a tool to attack your enemy is now against you. LOL

Of course there should be a way of evade that mistake, but I think that it will not be really easy, and probably will have bugs. Anyway, as I have already said, hope we see this working, It's an interesting way of reversing a game. ;)

You don't really make your project look good with that statement, do you?

ON-TOPIC: Nice idea, would be a good idea to spam the aRev fuckers.

I understand. But it's quite easy seperating them. Just edit the dll of iw4m to send the client an packet of 'hithere' and make it reply. If it doesn't reply, kick. Just an theory...

Is he from aRev? Shit, I already told too much...
