I hosted my own server actively a few months ago. Some players are able to connect to server and some are getting this error: "Unable to connect to host".

When I connect to the server, players who are playing gets disconnected and when they try to reconnect, they get the same error: "Unable to connect to host".

 

The server worked out fine when I last time hosted it a few moths ago. What should I do?

 

By the way, when i'm forwarding ports, do I need to configure trigger ports?

Yeah i do host it on my pc. Asked my friends, cant find it on server list, but we were able to play couple of maps, if they have ip to connect with console. Idk why its not on server list, but it is enough for me and my friends to play on. Ty MAGIC, without your help i wouldn't be able to set it up for months

Probably the noobest question ever and has already been solved but bear with me.

 

 

My "server.cfg" from the 'admin' folder is not loading.

The server starts with default config and does not load what I have given in "server.cfg".

 

For example the server name is still "Modern Warfare 3" in-game.

What are your parameters to start the server?

i just have a problem that :

i created the server just like you told...

but when i ran LaunchIW5M and in the server room there is no sign of my server in there...

i can't find mine...

The reason it shuts down there is because you have the file's extension backwards.

In other words, you have it named 'default.dpsl' when it should be 'default.dspl'. Also, you don't need it in the root either, just the admin directory.

When im at doing this step:

 

5. Create a shortcut to iw5m_server.exe and add the following paramaters into the target field after openning the properties:

 

+set net_queryPort 27015 +set net_port 27016 +set net_masterServerPort 27017 +set sv_config "server.cfg" +start_map_rotate

 

It should look something like this:

 

D:\iw5m\iw5m_server.exe +set net_queryport 27015 +set net_port 27016 +set net_masterServerPort 27017 +set sv_config "server.cfg" +start_map_rotate

 

I put where my mw3 folder is with the application but windows will not let me write more because the folder is into tons of otther bigger folders...

If the path is too big, just move the folder to a shorter path, like the root of D drive, for example.
