1) Anti-Cheat (Most obvious one which as been stated a lot in this thread)

 

2) Global Leader-board/stats. (So people can view your kills/deaths and other stuff like message you ingame (optional)

 

3) Instead of theatre mode, I would like a cod6 demo player (which loads the demo along with the game for you with options to rewind, pause and slow down.) just like the cod4 cybot player

I KNOW THESE ARE MORE THAN 3 THINGS, I'M NOT RETARDED, but i just couldn't sum it in 3 things.

-An ingame-buddylist with a join function.

-A party function in which the party leader can join a server and the others will automaticly join too.

-The Server browser should be in the "start playing" section, like it was in alterIWnet before the iw4m2 patch. (Just because if you leave the server list you're in the "start playing" section anyways and I find it kinda annoying.)

- Serverlist fixed. I can't move through the servers. i always gotta use my mousewheel.

-Theater Mode.

-(more) Custom Weapons (l96a1, Aku74, Msr, m40a1 (<-- for public games))

-Custom Maps (or some maps imported from other cods)

-Different Gametypes for private matches--> the possibilty to start mods via game-type selection.

-Removal of the "find game" tab, since it's useless. (NTA said since they can't emulate the official IW server, matchmaking is not possible)

-A selectable gold camo (already in

)

-The possibility to implement custom camos as an own slot like in the video above.

-The possibility to change the Forum-Name and/or ingame-Name. And a clan-tag option.

-Easier way to host servers, so even newbies like me can do it =P (it's probably cuz i didn't forward my ports tho)

-And last but not least, the anti-cheat. make them hackers give up! make them cry!

 

Yeah that's pretty much it. lol.

I know it's a bit much but I think it would just be awesome.

Those are my 3 things i would love to see in 4D1

 

1. A full working Demo System

- No need for "Demofix" / Devmap

- Correct Timescale on Demos

- Maybe a small menu with some buttons such as Fast Forward, Slowmotion, Hud On/Off, Load Cfg...

 

2. Ingame Friends List

 

3. Enhanced Server Browser with more Filters

Well i dont really care for a theater mode, it would be nice but i use /record :)

All I want good Anti-Hack system and thats pretty much it, maybe even a working friend system? New weapons are ok, i dont like the idea too much. Maybe there can be an option to have new weapons and turn it off or something because i just want to stick with the classic mw2 weapons. :)

Is it bugging you that much? Why not just let the 'Find Game' let you connect to a server with the lowest ping or something?

Here's the list of my top 3 feature I'd like to see :

 

1 - LAN support (LAN server browser and lobby browser)

2 - SP supportВ (Ingame console and connect command command for coop)

3 - New camos (Gold camos without bugs and maybe other camos ?)

- full working demo replay( like cod 4)

- server customisation like css...custom sounds...models ... ( if it's possible to make it)

I'll just answer a few ideas now, some are from comments, some are mine.

 

#1 Anti-cheat. This will definitely be worked on, but as servers currently don't need a key, there is no way to authenticate users, so no AC will work.

 

#2 Gold camos/custom camo slots. Gold camos were implemented in iw4m2, unfortunately they broke. More researching of such features could allow for up to 15 camo slots.

 

#3 Offline mode. This is quite easy to achieve, and when such feature is implemented it will probably also have a LAN serverlist. The LAN serverlist will also be available when online.

 

#4 Friend system. NP has this feature already, and this might be implemented.

How it is integrated into the game is another matter. One thought of mine that comes to me is having another serverlist, which lists all the servers your friends are playing on.

 

#5 New maps. This is already achievable, and just takes time and effort from us or members of the community. (plus they need to be balanced)

 

#6 Favorite servers on the serverlist. If a LAN serverlist is implemented, this feature could be done too.

 

#7 More GSC functions (like reading/writing files, database access). These can and most likely will be added. For example, the getPlayerPing is a custom command only available in IW4M. If you want to request one, hit me up with a PM or memo.

 

#8 Patching mods and functions which are exploitable. This is something which I want to patch.

EDIT #1: Patched activeAction exploit.

 

#9 New gametypes. Again with maps, this is already achievable, some-what. The _gametypes.txt needs to be patched, which is in progress.

 

#10 Matchmaking. As IW4M has dedicated servers, P2P matchmaking won't be available. It might be implemented that trying to matchmake will join you into a matched dedicated server, but even that is being hopeful.

 

#11 In-game names/Clan tags. My thoughts on this is to add another section in the UCP for in-game name. To apply your name after saving you would have to restart your client.

 

#12 Demos/Theatre mode. As I've never ever recorded a demo in IW4M before, I can't answer anything on that ;)

It's not really bugging me THAT much. good idea on your part! but atm it's pretty damn useless lol

If you add this then there should be a way to disable the file access or restrict it to just the game folder to stop malicious mods from destroying someone's file system.

Also, FifthInfinity looks promising.... although I have no idea how it works really (I'm too lazy to look at the disasembly and the hooks NTA already did)

That really is the server owners responsibility, not ours. Imposing more limits just makes things worse...

In any case, it will use IW's file system commands, which mainly have access only in the server folder.

I'll also include a dvar to turn this capability on or off.

- Support and Specialist Strike Package options (even though it would make my mega-mod obsolete =P)

- More camo options + gold camo.

- In-game theater mode (maybe by the use of time demos)

- Hardline "2 Assists = 1 Kill" feature from MW3

- Pointstreaks like in my specialist mod.

- Rebalancing of Commando

- A wee bit more ammo on spawn. My specialist strike package mod demonstrates this as well. Weapons like the SCAR-H are left grossly famished and deprived of needed ammo without Scavenger Pro, and force people to pace their shots way too much at the cost of critical reaction time.

- Make it so that OMA does not allow you to switch to classes with M203s or GP-23's.

- Remove pre-full zoom view sway for sniper rifles

- Nukes don't kill you or teammates or better yet, have them not end the game. My specialist mod demonstrates all of the above capabilities. To maintain support for a game-ending nuke in GTW, have the endgame nuke derive its TryUseNuke() function from a separate, alternately named _nuke.gsc file.

- Stat translation/import support from the old AlterIWNet M1 client.

- Prestige Shop with double XP and other options to be purchased with in-game currency. Perhaps this can be derived from a player's total score. Sort of like the way the credit system works in Halo: Reach. (Will all the awesome mofos who play Halo: Reach please stand up? =D)

 

No matter what happens though, 4D1 will always have my full support. I can't say how incredible you guys are. You do this out of purely a love for this community and a love for MW2 that IW/Activision never had the capacity to provide themselves. Too bad the entire gaming industry isn't run by wonderful human beings like NTA and the rest of the crew. As a programmer, you guys have my undying respect. MW2 on the PC is an absolute disaster, and you guys turned it into a FUN experience, an experience I was happy to enjoy for two years before the setback with Activision. 4D1 is, in and of itself, a miracle, a phoenix rising from the ashes. And I will look forward to playing it with you gentlemen for years to come :) You're f-ing amazing, no homo :) Salut

I assumed jeremych was on the 4D1 team (not necessarily the devteam, but at least the team in a broad sense of the word) since he both runs a Kill Confirmed server, a MW3 gametype which normal players don't have access to yet - and because he's a forum admin. If he isn't, and he's just a very lucky regular joe among us, I stand corrected.

Most of the other stuff I'd like is already listed above :)

None of the secondary weapons are skinned to have camos on them... plus the engine doesn't support it.
