common guys ur looking like the sledgehammer idiots now.... nerfing weapons and making it useless... all weapons in mw2 are OP, but thats the beauty of it.. :geek:

Decreasing the range of the non-akimbo M1887 wasn't really necessary.

 

I wonder why that decision was made?

 

There's already no reason to use the 1887 over the SPAS-12. Why make it even more useless?

 

I can see nerfing the akimbo 1887s; but then, why leave the akimbo Glock 18s at their stock settings? Those are just as bad; there must be a reason why some servers have disabled the use of classes with those, but those same servers do not block use of the akimbo 1887s.

I hate shotguns most of all weapons (after Riot Shield) because every shotgun have low range. btw if shotgun I hate akimbo me too because shotgun already have sh*t accuracity, with akimbo it's very uncontrollable.

1) Define long-range weapon? because it's effectively the round you have in it. Bird shot is effective in accuracy but lacks range, buck shot is a medium range medium accuracy round, depending on gauge, slug let's just say it can fuck shit up with the right accuracy.

I wonder why the model1887 was buffed when it was supposed to be nerfed.

 

Stock values:

 

damage\35\

minDamage\20

maxDamageRange\200\

minDamageRange\600

 

which pretty much means the max damage of 35 (per round i guess) is dealt up to 200 units of range.

The damage lowers from 200 - 600 units from 35 to 20.

 

now:

 

damage\35\

minDamage\20

maxDamageRange\2000\

minDamageRange\800

 

which really doesnt make any sense to me...

Well i tested it ingame with debug damage enabled through a mod and you can deal damage up to a range of 800 units now.

 

Thats not how it was supposed to be i guess.

It was nerfed compared to the old value which was double the current value. Note that that weapon file is from an earlier dump made on another executable version, which had a 1400 weapon limit.

Oh ok, so then again it kinda does make sense. But still the iw devs pretty much failed at balancing shotguns.

I mean when the spas12 has a minDamagerange of 700 and the model1887 has just the doubled value.
