now its ok but when i run server I can't find him on list and I cant connect with local ip which is for me 192.168.5.1,

I've forwarded my ports 28960 & 28961 ( UDP ) but still can't...

My server port had to be fowarded in my router as follow :

 

Start / End port : 28960/28961

Protocol : both TCP and UDP, if you can't set them both in one, make 1 of each using same start/end port and server ip.

LAN ip address : use you local server ip.

 

And please, someone tell me if I'm wrong,

I don't want to throw bad infos trying to help people.

I lost track of the issue, what's the problem?

Well this is the list of things I've done;

- Downloaded & installed dedicated server update tool ( What was this thing supposed to do, I didn't notice any changes in my game folder - Installation finished very fast )

- Created & edited server.cfg in main folder

- Created shortcut of "LaunchIW4M.exe" and added parameters ( is this ok? because I don't have "iw4m.exe" or "1w4m.exe"- it was a typo, right? )

+set party_maxplayers 6 +set net_port 28961 +exec server.cfg +map mp_rust +map_rotate -dedicated -console

- Forwarded ports: TCP: 28960, 28961, UDP: 28960, 28961

 

Only this thing is not working

"I can't connect to my own server?!" OR "My server doesn't appear on the server browser list?!"

To connect you will need to open console with ` and type ''connect " then hit enter.

An example would be "connect 192.168.0.2:28968"

As far as I know, 127.0.0.1 will not work.

 

What should I do?

Is this right?

If you need more info just ask, I can't remember if this is everything, but yeah, problem is that I can't connect to my server, or can I somehow check from console is it even working?

Launch that file normally then run iw4m.exe, you didn't actually install the game properly

And yes, that' fine if that's your local IP address for the dedicated machine

However, make sure you then portforward on your router

I already told you...

You should be using the dedi tool, not the files from the front page for a start

Then launch "Launchiw4m.exe" to download the files

Downloading the dedicated files should be enough

I am using dedi tool, i have copied my game, downloaded that dedi tool & ran it,

but when I install dedi tool on clean game there is not LaunchIW4M.exe or iw4m.exe

When I'm connecting to my router I use 192.168.5.1 address ( see this, address bar ),

when I tried to connect to my server I used following addresses; 192.168.5.1:28961/28960, 192.168.5.253:28961/28960, none of these are working.

Is your server on your local network? (in your house) I assume so, so try this:

Go to the server machine and open up a command prompt (cmd in run) and then type in the following command "ipconfig"

You need to look for the line "IPv4 Address"

This should read off "192.168.x.x"

Mine, for example, is 192.168.0.7

What is the IPv4 address of the server machine?

 

Once you have found that out, that's what you need to set on your router as the IP address you port forward to

where do i get the files from since the download link is striked out and unable to be clicked, is all i need the dedi tool

Not hard at all

I do not see the point in a dedicated server video...

But if you REALLY want one, I can make one, but it would be wasting my time
