The mod works fine for me but on the same scheme as the RSE - I can only play 1 full game and then i have to restart 4D1 and the game, i can not play one match after the other, otherwise it crashes, but that's a RSE problem as far as i know. The mod is pretty good, but there's something i was wondering... I saw the first post and it says to modify the .iwd file in order to get different perks for the pointstreak, but my question is.. how do i modify it? There's a program for that? Tried opening with WordPad or something, it just shows me special characters. I believe that question's kinda stupid but i'm laic at that, haha

Can anybody make this able to work with the STEAM version of MW2? I got it off steam the first of August 2012... :I

 

If you have the Steam version, just install 4D1. If you can't install 4D1 for whatever reason, you can contact the Tech Support team and they'll try and help you sort out your installation. But vanilla Steam MW2 does not offer support for custom .iwd files for a variety of reasons.

I dont understand , you say

 

maps\mp\gametypes and there is the file "_killstreaks.gsc"

 

But i have that file in

 

maps/mp/killstreaks/_killstreak.gsc"

 

And I do not know how exactly to change the Perks

There's two "killstreaks.gsc" files. One is in the "maps/mp/killstreaks" like you found, but the other is in "maps/mp/gametypes". That's the one you need to edit.

You need to open the .IWD, open maps/mp/gametypes and there is the file that you need to edit.

Make sure that the Specialist mod is the only modded file you're running at the moment. Running multiple mod files at once causes instability issues and can cause crashes (especially if the files therein conflict with one another). Make sure to move any other mod files that may be installed to a safe place on your computer, make sure the Specialist mod is properly placed in your Mods folder, and run the game again.

Kick reduces weapon recoil. While there is a way to alter recoil in-game, it is a boolean variable. So having absolutely 0 recoil on all weapons is not a viable supplement at the moment. If I can figure out a way to REDUCE recoil without completely eliminating it, I will gladly include that in future builds.

 

Focus reduces weapon flinch when shot. For this, I'm not even sure what dvar may apply to this. If this variable is exclusive to weapon files, it cannot be edited, as edited weapon files cause SERIOUS instability issues (1 full match can be played and then the game will crash when trying to start another if you run modded weapon files).

 

Speed increases your movement speed. This is exactly like Lightweight, so to add such a proficiency in would be redundant.

 

Attachments is a clone, as well, of Bling and thus would be redundant as well.

 

Melee increases melee speed. This DEFINITELY is a variable assigned by weapon files and is thus unmoddable at this time.

 

Range cannot be added in for the same reason as Melee.

 

Stability is an essentially useless proficiency in the context of MW2 since weapon sway while aiming down iron sights is incredibly less prevalent than it is by default in MW3.

 

Impact has essentially the same effect as FMJ. However, the other problem is that bullet penetration is defined in weapon files and thus, again, is untouchable.

 

Damage is Stopping Power. Another proficiency that, just like Lightweight and Speed, would be completely redundant.

 

Breath allows you to hold your breath while in ADS with assault rifles. This is actually intriguingly possible, but again pointless considering how little ADS'd weapons actually sway in MW2 as compared to MW3.

Hm, isnt Prodigy's promod running modded weapon files? I think the mod is pretty stable

Nope prodigy's isn't running any custom weapon files AFAIK except for frag_grenade_mp to remove nade cooking.

Promodlive3.3 is actually running 40 custom weapon files + some custom menu files.

 

Other than the stability issue related to the weapon files which i've report here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8229 (not sure if any of the devs noticed... :?: )

it's stable, no clan has ever reported stability issues other than the one above.

 

Maybe someone could take look at his servers console_log.mp and see if you get the same error (ERROR: Exceeded MAX_SURFACE_TYPE_SOUND_LISTS (16))

when running this mod.

I'll check back on 4D1 and see if stability has been restored to modded weapon files, but I seriously doubt it. I brought it up with NTA, showed him the error dump and told him about the problem in detail and he was stumped, so unless he somehow fixed it (he's a miracle worker so there's a chance, granted) then that point unfortunately stands.

I download the Full Version then i go to my mw2 files > m2demo i place the mod, i run the game i create a private mach i try the command: svr_bots 11 and too svr_bots_fill 11 and didnt work :\

 

And i change too the perks and they dont show too :3

Just not shooting/knifing/semtexing etc. Me and my friend like to just go on this mod sometimes when we are bored and just trickshot them. But they keep killing us while we're mid air and everything :/. Sometimes they don't shoot which is weird. But is there anyway we can just make it so they don't shoot ever?

There should be I way that worked on the assault strike package mod, but it should work here:

Bring down the console and type: testclients_doattack 0 (set to 0 to prevent bots from shooting, 1 to allow them shooting). Hope this helps.
