No. I mean, if you are going to fire it behind your head with 2 closed eyes, it probably will result in less hits, but a trained soldier in bursts without overestimating the weapon class's meant distance which is 50 meters at best - No.

MP40 wasn't used so widely because of a good accuracy or anything.

Remember, in the later years of the war the soldiers were not the experienced ones, they were drafted in newbies and probably had insufficient training compared to the trained ones.

 

I think during wartime the MP40 had a unit cost of $19 a piece, thats why it was used so widely, because it was so goddamn cheap to make.

I fully agree that in the hands of an experienced soldier, this is not a bad gun, but irl during the war it probably was.
