Hey I've got a problem with my Steam-Version of CODMW2: I start the game, click on "search game" (my game is actually on german, it says "Spiel suchen") and in the lists there are 0/0 players online. When I try to search a game, I simply stay in my lobby and nothing happens, but I doubt that there are no users online, aren't there?

I believe it says 00/0 for everyone, you just have to stay in the finding game stage for about 5 minutes, then it will finally find a game. After that, the matchmaking will work fine like it's suppossed to, it's just that for the first game you'll have to wait a bit. Hope this helps.

Or play a private match with your steam friends in that 5 minutes.

I usually use this options and it works for me.

I own the legit copy from the first day, but didn't play for months because I was sick of the laggy multiplayer connection with steam.

What can I say?Damn Activision!

I just want to say for the people having problems connecting to games in MW2, I have found a solution! You need to go to select game type screen, then just go off and do something else for 5-10 minutes (you can alt-tab out from this screen.) When you get back on, it should be able to connect to another game with ease. Works for me every time.

 

I know it's frustrating, another case of MW2 being a broken game, plus there are a lot of hackers (way more than I ever saw in AIW!) I bought this game just for IW4M BTW....

Quick question: if you get banned on IW4M, will it ban you from the steam version and vice versa?
