where's the download i want this so bad!!!!.and better then steam :D

There is no release yet, so there is also no download link available.

I doubt there's going to be a download link because of legal issues.

Then how do you expect people to play IW4M...

There will not be a download link to the base game, which you will need to get from Steam, but the ability to download the modified IW4M files will be kind of necessary.

the mods yes, but the actual game no

He means IW4M, with 'the mods'.

You Would be surprised how much money Activision will make from this move... (Referring to Legit Versions Only) As every loves the alternative, more would be likely to buy the game, and then mod it. This would be Activision-Proof, as I saw on someone signature.

Reality Check.

My concern is the fact that a modified or completely new .exe file for the game has to be created to make this work on a separate network from IWnet. According to the EULA, this is ALWAYS illegal, legit copy of MW2 or not. you cannot modify, reverse engineer, or change the EXE or CORE of the game, which is why AlterIW ANYTHING was never a MOD to begin with, it was an illegality from the start.

This is factual stuff from the EULA of Activision publishing, as well as the IdTech engine.

I'm not judging here, I'm just confused as to why no one has brought these facts up yet.

I own a legit copy of the game. I owned a legit copy of the game when I used AlterIW. This does not change the fact as why Activision sent a cease and deist order. I didn't read it, but this is a clear violation of the EULAs of many publishers, and just about EVERY video game studio known to man. I've been coding, scripting and creating MODS for 15 years, and we all know this whom are in the industry.

My question is this...HOW do you get around an illegal EXE file, and avoid a STEAM BAN on my account that has over 114 games on it, other than opting to not use this service that you guys are brilliant to provide?

Of course if I'm wrong, I ask that NTAuthority or any of his associates correct me themselves, as I'd love to be wrong, but EVERYTHING in experience over longer than these guys have been alive tells me I'm not.

thanks for reading, and I mean no disrespect, but I'm just wanting to clarify that my 114 game steam account will be safe, even while using a Legit copy of cod6, with this "MOD" that's not a mod, but a conversion of the executable file:) thanks for your understanding, and PLEASE if I'm incorrect, and there's evidence it can be proven, by all means correct me.

...Seal...

This. Very well put. I wouldn't really classify it as a "mod" myself. NTA technically is modifying the code/exe, but Activision never cared about that really, they cared about the legitimecy of the game. They just want the money.

still asking didnt get clear answer with

"yarr" in page 3.

What about DLCs?

I own the game but I do not have DLCs so:

1-) Do I'll get ban from VAC if I play the maps which comes with dlc?

2-)If I'll be banned From VAC for that How'll NOT play(block my game to join) that maps from matchmaking?

3-)Is there'll be a option like With DLC, Without DLC.

4-)I want clear answer for First 3 Thanks!

You've misunderstood him, game will only check if you own it on Steam, it won't do anything with VAC. And about DLC, NTA said he's unable to make a check on those, so if you want to be legit, you should buy it.

But who wants to be legit ?

like i said before....you can buy it used or from a friend...Activision wont get any of the profit...

[story]

Technically, as far as I know, you are indeed correct. I think however what NTAuthority is counting on is that Activision will not shut down this project because - even though it is technically against the EULA - it would not harm Activision financially, seeing as we are not providing a way to play MW2 without actually having bought the game first.

Yes but i meant for people that DONT have that option. Or ones that are to lazy to ask and just buy the game right away. Its only like 25 dollars for download. :D

Edit: And does anyone know if the steam overlay will still be available while play IW4M? I know kind of a stupid question just curious..

hmm...if it doesnt work...you could always add the application that you get from nta (when released) and link it to steam.....but we cant be sure until its available

its not a stupid question ;)

So, there will be new Maps and Gametypes. Right ?

Is it possible to port Guns from SP to MP, like the Dragunov?

IIRC the correct Dragunov files weren't present, so they couldn't be used. (maybe on another map though)
