I have an idea NTA release this with the steam check but make sure it is easy to bypass...... if you know what i mean. When IW4m was in beta stage(revision 70 odd something) i found a custom IW4m.dll which bypassed the steam checkand allowed me to play without steam. I am uploading the file as a proof. You should do the same with IW5M make a modded dll file and release it on some other website(or torrent thepiratebay.se)and give a tutorial.

I'm intending on keeping matchmaking in with only the Face Off maps.

In my opinion there is no need for matchmaking. Better don't waste your time on matchmaking which is laggy and easy to hack (for host). Matchmaking is a console feature, PC players don't need it.

You can't simply just release a crack for it. It needs to be coded in different ways, and needs to run off of servers separate from IWNet/Activision's servers. Plus, how would an anonymous person uploading a crack for IW5 keep the player count high? Don't see much logic in that.

What he meant is to released the one WITH Steam Check from 4D1 and then send the "Crack" to someone else to release it anonymously. I think it's a good idea, but we do not need to do that. So what if Activision sue us? COME AT ME BRAH!!!
