External: the port, which you want to forward

Protocol: depends at the port (UDP, TCP)

IP: I think your internal one

PC:

TCP: 27014-27050, 3074

UDP: 27000-27014, 27015-27030, 3074

Dedicated server issue here.

Been trying over and over again since yesterday, but I can't even connect via 127.0.0.1 on the same PC. But IW5M_Server claims that the server is running. I have forwarded all required ports, but port forwarding is anyway irrelevant when connecting to the same machine via localhost IP.

How should I connect, anyway? I think I'm messing up when connecting.

I first tried

connect 127.0.0.1:27015

(net_queryPort returns 27015)

Didn't work. Then tried without port as

connect 127.0.0.1
, but still no go.

Then I tried both other ports 27016 and 27017, though I was pretty sure that wouldn't work.

I'm totally lost as to what I should be doing. Some help, please?

I had the same problem earlier today, I was trying to set my server up for the first time on the same pc I was playing on. I got it working with some help from another site.

My main problem was I forgot to change the info in the server.cfg.

// Server command-line parameters (this section is for documentation only)

// Specify server configuration file (this file)
+set sv_config "server.cfg" (default "server.cfg")

// Specify server visibility (1 = LAN, 2 = Internet (default) )
+set dedicated 2

// Open game port (Steam-visible server game port)
+set net_queryPort 27015

// Secure game port
+set net_port 27016

// Steam authentication port
+set net_authPort 8766

// Steam master server (server browser) port
+set net_masterServerPort 27017

It won't matter if you have the correct information in the command line b/c it'll call the server.cfg last. Make sure your .cfg file has been changed to the correct ports for IW5M as they are different from Steam ports.

Also, if you want to connect via the rcon from in-game, I was told this earlier and it helped me connect for the first time.

It's the local address you need to use, not the loopback, like instead of 127.0.0.1 use: 192.168.XXX.XXX (IPv4)

Do that and add the port:27015 and you should connect.

You can find your IPv4 from cmd/ipconfig. Hope this helps you, worked for me.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I had those lines commented in the server.cfg, and specified as command line arguments. Following your post, I uncommented them and changed them to exactly match what you've posted. And then connected via my local IP, that is, 192.168.2.2. Sadly, still the same result.

However, there is something I discovered.

IW5M_Server claims that it's using these ports:

]net_port

"net_port" is: "27016" default: "27016"

Domain is any integer from 0 to 65535

]net_queryPort

"net_queryPort" is: "27015" default: "27015"

Domain is any integer from 0 to 65535

]net_masterServerPort

"net_masterServerPort" is: "27017" default: "27017"

Domain is any integer from 0 to 65535

But it doesn't seem that the port 27016 is actually being used.

None of the ports are at "LISTENING" state either. Is that normal?

@acewing

Don't know bout the listening ports issue.

Maybe try 27016 after you IPv4? Dunno really, just know what worked for me.

My command line only has this tho:

+set sv_config "server.cfg" +start_map_rotate

Everything else is in the .cfg file.

All the ports are being used.

To connect to the server, use the net_queryPort (27015)

net_masterServerPort (27017) is used for server listing and rcon.

net_port doesn't really have a use for the client, but you can't run multiple servers if you don't assign each of them a different net_port (the second one will crash on launch).

Also, those commands show up on server.cfg just as a refference (note that they're quoted out be default). Those should be specified on the server's shortcut startup arguments, or those basic connection values may change if another cfg is executed on that server.

good time of day. tell me please how (where) to configure the server, that you could go in the "observers" i.e. monitor the players. the weapon mode. Sorry for my English

Maybe you should post in your regional forum.
