They're not supposed to support applications. All they tell you is how to open ports on specific routers.

Assuming that you're trying to host a dedicated server, you'll most probably have to forward ports 27015 and 27017 (unless you chose to use other ports instead).

Follow portforward.com guide, using those ports.

An issue I had when I first got started was the ports... I found out that just [forwarding ports] was not working with my router (linksys) so I used a bit of 2 methods DMZ and the Port Forward and it works perfectly. Some routers are different apparently linksys is one of them. If DMZ is not set to the ip where your forwarding them ports it drops the packets. Good way to tell if your ports are working is WireShark just looking for packets going from 27015

Are you running the server on your local network?

If so, it's possible that your router doesn't support a query on your own IP (quite common issue with many ISP provided routers)

I'm hosting the server on my own PC if, thats what you mean. Our internet provider is Telekom (Germany), so I'm not sure, whatthat thing can do and what not <.<

Ok, then you probably won't see your server on the list, but everyone else will. Just use connect IP:port to connect to your own server.

You mean type in connect IP:port in CMD?

A friend of mine also tried to join my sever, but he also couldnt find it...
