Well, it's working fine now. The extra servers disappeared.. not sure what's up with that, but it's normal now.

It probably took dpmaster awhile to check if heartbeats sending.

I really don't get what you guys are complaining about. Now, there are no disadvantages to moving from aRev to IW4M. You get more maps, demos, mod menu, aCI ect. with the userbase of... aforementioned project.

Almamu is horribly wrong. Firstly, there's normally no compatibility whatsoever; using the connect command wouldn't have worked at all. Secondly, IW4M servers running this version also send heartbeats to the master.alterrev.net server, so the 'other' clients do not need to be modified whatsoever to connect to IW4M servers.

There should be a setting to this, as server owners might not like when are their servers sending heartbeats to third party servers.

I beg to differ. I perfer 4D1's client for its features and stability, but its player base is lacking atm, however, most of the fun servers, and players are on Arev. I myself look forward to being able to use the 4D1 client to play on Arev servers.

They're stealing 4D1. This is senseless. Sorry NTA, but this was a wrong decision (my opinion).

May create peace, but they may release it, however a lead admin told me they won't touch it.

and why does that matter? they just wanted to provide a proper and free version of mw2, besides that they're not making any money with it so that means it's a non-profit organization so "stealing" is a invalid argument.

But the problem is that the users at aRev steal the whole project.
