You can't host it on a web server

Thats bad. Is there an other way to get an own server without hosting it on my own pc ??

And whats about mw3, can i host the dedicadet server of that on an webserver ??

You need to host it on a whole operating system, not a webserver.

Rent a VPS for hosting servers.

After some tweaking of the settings i finally got my server running. One thing i notice is that everytime the map ends and loads the next map, i timeout attempting to connect. Others can connect (except after map change) and ports seem to be ok, so i was wondering if this was a setting i failed to properly config.

I set it all up. When I connect myself using ip + port I get on the server just fine, but 1) it doesnt show up in server list 2) when someone tries to connect he gets attempts only.

 

Port is forwarded.

If people can't connect even using the external IP:port, then either the ports are not properly forwarded or they're being blocked by some firewall.

I have a problem with the gamemode on my server , in server.cfg i have set it up so it's Search and Destroy , at the loading screen it even says Search and Destroy but when it goes in the game it says Free for All , and is infact Free for All. I tried other gamemodes but it keeps Free for All no matter what.

Help me please.

Are you running any mod, or do you have custom .iwd files in m2demo folder?

That's why I think it's a script that's forcing it to be FFA

Try removing the mod and then see if you can start a S&D match.

where does the Client Server List know the ip of the running servers from?

there is no setting in the server.cfg...

 

or is the server automatically sending the external ip? cos if so, it sends the ip of my computer

When I was changing my router, I tried an Asus router and I was having that issue of the servers assuming the router's IP as the external IP

I'm sure there are some settings around there. But since I had to return it right away or keep it, (and it was a bit expensive router) I just returned it and got a different one.

My server is running, port is forwarded and everything is done.

BUT I CANT CONNECT!?

No one can, and my rcon says it isn't running too, and i look at http://s.mufff.in/iw4msl and there it says that my server is offline too, so what should I do?

Rcon should use the internal IP. So, if rcon says that it isn't running, then there's something wrong with the game port.

Use

net_port

command on the server's console to check wich game port is the server actually running on.

How do you install big brother bot as i tried and all it says can't connect to database!!!

Go here -> http://config.bigbrotherbot.net/ and generate a new config file (b3.xml)

If you don't mess up while configuring the database username, password and name, it will connect to the database.

Also, don't forget to login on phpmyadmin to import the database tables.
