Out of curiousity, why would this be necessary? The reason AlterIW got the cease and desist is because they offered all the necessary files to play MW2 (Infinity Ward didn't see it as a mod, but their own game on a different server being played for free). It wasn't like AlterOps, AlterMW3 or TeknoMW3 whereas you needed a copy of the original game. I'll be honest, I did in fact torrent the games because of Alter (MW3, MW2, Black Ops), but that doesn't concern the creator(s) of this mod (or AlterIW). Where to download?

1. There has been an alternative client to IWNet, in order to fix many problems the regular version of MW2's Steam/IWNet matchmaking had like: No mods, long waiting times for games, etc This program got shut down, because of support of piracy. 2. Now, a successor of this program is to be released, but this time, it will only work with a legit copy of MW2. If that's correct, then kudos! I owned MW2 since the beginning, played it a lot, but now, the extremely long waiting time for a game is too much to bear. I really hope this project is successfull.

Guys I bought Orginal Copy of the game for 4 Euros (In Turkey a Internet Service Seller made a Sale I got it for 4 euros Tonight.) but my Question is: I do not Own DLCs and as I know there'll be DLC's Maps in that project. 1-)So Do I'll be banned from Steam by VAC for playing this? So I love Dedicated servers on MW2..and I hope this new approach will be accepted by Activision as legal, but if someone could answer a few questions.. 1. I own MW2 on steam but I do not own the DLCs, how will this affect me? 2. What are the odds of this project meeting the "legal" requirement, indefinitely? 3. Will the anticheat have to be reworked? 4. How will this legal mod work with steam?
